Mission Statement[]


"The World Freerunning & Parkour Federation is dedicated to the safe and respectful advancement of the Parkour Movement throughout the world. Inspired by the creativity and mental discipline embodied by Parkour, the athlete/founders of the WFPF and their partners will faithfully bring this philosophy of movement to the growing numbers of optimistic young people around the globe who believe that through camaraderie, self-expression, and service to others, there is no obstacle that cannot be overcome." -WFPF Website.


The World Freerunning and Parkour Federation was born in October 2007, however would not be named for another 2 years, the ten founding athletes (Ryan Doyle, Daniel Ilabaca and Tim “Livewire” Shieff from the UK, original Team Tempest members Paul “Diddy” Darnell, Victor Lopez, Rich King and Gabe Nunez from the US, Oleg Vorslav, the “Russian Climber”, from Latvia, and Marcus Gustavsson and Filip Ljungberg from Team Air Wipp in Sweden ) came together from all over the world to try to push Parkour and Freerunning out to a mainstream audience.
